Vancouver Bachelorette Itinerary Ideas: A Vancouver DJ’s Guide in 7 Legendary Packages
The wedding date is set, the wedding venue is booked, the wedding dress is purchased, the wedding guest list (almost) finalized. Everything is set to go except one thing… The Bachelorette! As a veteran Vancouver DJ who’s performed in, and controlled the energy of, Vancouver’s top nightlife spots, I’ve seen firsthand exactly what makes a bachelorette party legendary versus what ruins a night out.
Aimless barhopping across long distances in heels… bringing your friends to somewhere they don’t even like the music… lack of foresight and reservations… boujee girls ending up in dive bars… regular girls trying to fit in in places they can’t afford… these are all things that need to be avoided at all costs. So to begin, here are some universal bachelorette itinerary guidelines:
Reserve, Reserve, Reserve. The scene is competitive out there, most venues would love to host a group of females, large or small. Depending on the time of night and special events, almost all clubs, bars, and restaurants are happy to grant free guest list and reservations to those who reach out in advance. Find your choice venue’s online, reach out well in advance, and organize at least a rough outline for the bachelorette party’s movements.
Know Your Crew. Are your girls EDM heads, craving a one night recreation of ‘that one time’ at that festival? Are they pure class mainly looking for ambiance, luxury, and sophisticated delicious cocktails? or are they ex-club rat ratchet Cardi B fans ready to leave the kids at home and go buck wild? knowing this in advance and planning accordingly needs to be factored into the night’s equation.
Fashion or Function. Make sure everyone is on the same page as you when it comes to what kind of night this is going to be. Your ladies should know you and revolve around your vibe, but just in case, take a quick calculation of roughly how far you'll walk, how you're getting around, how low the outdoor temperature is, and how many dance floors are to be conquered, so they can plan their footwear and over all aesthetic appropriately.
Factoring in all these common ‘pitfalls’ I’ve created 7 Vancouver bachelorette party ideas for your perusal below. Hopefully they can entertain you, help you figure out some things to avoid, and maybe give you a couple ideas that you might not have thought of yet.
1. The Yaletown Classic
Recommended age range: 25-40
Expense: $$$
A Yaletown bar crawl is probably the most reliable go to choice for a fun night out with some sophistication, but enough vibes to do some proper celebrating and booty shaking. Start the night off at one of the countless delicious restaurants. For a combination of great food and cool ambiance my personal favourites are Brix, Dove Tail, and Social Corner. For some louder music and a bit more energy: Parlour if you like oldschool (a vibe I draw on a lot as a Vancouver wedding dj), Banter Room for a more modern feel. These two spots are the perfect ‘in-between’ rooms, for a ‘more-than-a-restaurant-but-less-than-a-club’ feel. Following that, for probably the weakest aspect of Yaletown scene, your best nightclub option is Hello-Goodbye, or Uber on out of there to a nightclub of your choice. Best cocktail room in Yaletown is Bartholemew, hands down (small groups only though).
2. The No Broke Boys Ball
Recommended age range: 30-40
average expense: $$$$$
This next package is maybe a bit less common, but if you and your girls are flush, wanna dress hella fly, and are not afraid to spend and get spended on, this could be for you: Start at the #1 room in the city (imo) Prophecy. It's the best environment, music, and cocktail selection for adults you can find in the city. Follow this up with cocktail at Karma, then up to Mansion for Bottle and a VIP. Basically the closest you’ll get to a vegas night out without boarding a plane.
3. The Parq Parade
Recommended age range: 19-60 (all the aunties welcome)
average expense: $$$$
I might be a little biased as I have worked closely with D6 for years but there truly is nowhere else in Vancouver when you can have a killer and versatile bachelorette all in one building: Parq Resort and Casino. If you have the funds and want to get wild with no worries of the drunken trip home stay at the Mariott or Douglas; pre-drink and afterparty space covered. Dinner for meat lovers needs to be Victor and their amazing steaks. Follow this with a booth reservation at d6, the perfect place for large groups to actually have a comfortable area on great couches to chill and party and listen to great music. Gambling is probably more of a Bachelor thing, but to cap the night with a couple roulette rolls could be fun for some. If any of you and your girls partake, the Casino is open till 5am.
4. The Sea To Sky High Road
Recommended age range: 25+
expense: $$$$$
While I could definitely make a whole blog post about destination bachelorettes, As a frequent Whistler Wedding Dj and former Whistler resident DJ, I’m gonna include some whistler wedding ideas; because, if you’re looking for something close enough to get to in 1.5 hours but far enough away you can act like your on another planet… in a crew made up of another species… Whistler is 100% the play. For a high end stay Fairmont Chateau Whistler, for a super central stay I recommend Crystal Lodge. For the most fun spring for one of whistler’s countless airbnbs. Safest bet party wise is classic Buffalo Bills; one of those bars that’s a bit goofy and tacky but somehow impossible not to have fun in. For an more modern EDM focused vibe check out Après Après, for best dance party I’d probably recommend Garfinkles
5. The Granville Grinder
Recommended age range: 19-30
expense:$
For gals on a shoe string, and true lovers of hip hop the south end of downtown Granville could be your ideal destination. Skip dinner entirely and aim for three close clubs: Twelve West, followed by Cabana, then the brand new Adonis. Hip hop, Trap, Afrobeats, and proper club vibes with complimentary guest list available at all three, all within a city block.
6. The Music Head Masterclass
Recommended age range: 30-45
expense:$$$$
If you and your crew are truly ‘all about the music’ you gotta figure out a dope artist and revolve your night around a specific show that all, if not most, of your people will be into. The undeniable behemoth of bringing dance music artists to Vancouver is, without a doubt, Blueprint. The absolute best concert venue in the city for all genres is the classic Commodore. Check their calendars, find the artist you all want to see build the night around that.
7. Sober Sister Soul Train
For the more health conscious Bachelorette, or if you just don’t want to deal with the expense and hangover of a night out on the town I would recommend sauna rental. if your in Vancouver and wanna go all out, Hot Voyage Floating Sauna is amazing, or if its too rainy to be out on the water, rent the entirety of Bugu and have a private sauna + cold plunge experience for relatively cheap.
Recommended age range: 19+
expense:$$
